2016 — 2022

Chief Operating Officer

Member, Board of Advisors

2014 — 2016

"I was so impressed by Sajju and his advice, that I asked him to be a mentor of mine. 5 years and two companies later, he still is. When Sisu Global Health hit some roadblocks in fall of 2016, I reached out to Sajju to help transform our company from our early boot-strapping startup days to a high growth, structured, company that could scale.

He has been instrumental from operations, to sales, to the general structure of our company as we grow. Sajju has been an incredible asset and I am grateful to have him as a colleague, a mentor, and a friend."

- Carolyn Yarina,

Ex-CEO, Sisu Global Health

Sisu was a US-based medical device company designing healthcare technologies for emerging markets. Its flagship product, Hemafuse, was a handheld autotransfusion device that enables surgical teams to collect, filter, and return a patient’s own blood during emergencies, particularly when donor blood is unavailable.

Backed by investors and partners including Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest, USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, UK Aid, and the Government of Norway, Sisu received international recognition for its work in global health.

Hemafuse helped save hundreds of women suffering from ruptured ectopic pregnancies across Africa and has been used in nearly 1,000 surgeries during the ongoing war in Ukraine, demonstrating its value in both blood-constrained health systems and conflict settings.

  • Led the operational development of Hemafuse from prototype through production and commercialisation, building the capabilities required to bring a new medical device to market.

  • Established strategic partnerships with Amref Health Africa, the continent’s largest health development NGO, and Surgipharm, Kenya’s largest medical device distributor, to support market access, distribution, and adoption across Africa.

  • Helped secure multimillion-dollar funding from venture capital and angel investors, while leading financial planning, budgeting, and capital allocation through commercialisation.
