Chief Executive Officer

SGC India

Family business founded in the 1970s, the company began by fabricating covers for the eyecare industry before expanding into trading and, eventually, manufacturing hundreds of products across polymers, packaging, and office supplies.

I grew up around the factory, spending school holidays in the business and even building an inventory management system for its 500-ton warehouse as a teenager. After completing my MBA, I returned to India to join the company as the second generation, as it navigated the dot-com downturn, a generational transition, and the question of what should come next.

  • Reimagined the company’s business model rather than pursuing incremental expansion, conceiving one of India’s first integrated polymer film-based, resin-to-product manufacturing facilities.

  • Led the venture from concept to commercial operations, overseeing location selection, dealing with government departments, technology evaluation, plant design, equipment procurement, securing regulatory approvals, and commissioning.

  • Built the operating ecosystem from the ground up, developing supplier partnerships, recruiting and training teams, stabilising production, and expanding capacity.

  • Helped transform the company from a traditional family fabrication enterprise into a vertically integrated manufacturing operation, contributing to a 20X increase in revenue over eight years.
